And The Winner Is...

Fergus!

Thanks for all your great name suggestions! Fergus was definitely the most popular name. Jean's comment saying "he looks like a Fergus" sums it up nicely. So Fergus it is.

Now I will make you a promise. This is not going to turn into a dog blog. North of 49 will continue to be a blog about absolutely nothing and everything just like it has been since its beginning. But what I can't promise you is that a few puppy pictures and posts won't slip in now and again. Fergus is just so darn cute and so hilarious it would be impossible not to brag about him on occasion.

So as long as this is a puppy post I might as well slip in a few more pictures. This is Fergus with his Angry Bird toy. He loves attacking it and carrying it off to his basket. (Well, really that is Jenny's basket but we don't seem to be able to convince Fergus of that fact.) Then he promptly collapses and falls asleep from all the excitement.

Like I said last time, it is definitely a dog's life around here.

    1. No worries - there will be more Fergus pictures. He is actually quite hard to photograph because he is a such a bundle of energy. The only time I can get a picture that it totally in focus is when he is asleep!

  4. I love the name Fergus! I prefer people names for animals, I don't know why.
The last picture is so cute, you can see how tired Fergus is.

    1. Yes, he's a Westie. I had wanted a Westie for about 10 years before I was actually at the place in life where I could get one, so hang in there. Your time will come too! If you are on Ravelry there is a group for Westie owners or fans of Westies. There are tons of cute pictures that pop up there if you want to check it out. It will give you something to dream about. :-)

  7. Fergus is a winner, he ended up with a great family--even if the cat never likes him. =)

    1. Yes, the cat is never going to like Fergus. Or Jenny. Sometimes I don't think the cat even likes its humans!

    1. I am not sure what the attraction is with Angry Bird, but he loves the thing! It is so funny to see him strut across the room with it because it is almost as big as Fergus is. Glad to see you made it back safely from your field trip!

  10. He is so cute. Puppies are so much fun, but for some reason 3 of our 4 dogs we've had or have have been adults.

Maybe the next one in about 10 years will be a puppy.

  11. I think getting adult dogs can be a great way to go, especially when you have young children. Training a puppy takes a lot of work and energy, and I think it is hard to do it properly when you are also taking care of a family. Not impossible, just hard. I have way more time to commit to Fergus now than I would have even a couple of years ago. Your time will come!

  12. Oh My Goodness. Fergus is too cute for words! The name suits him perfectly. Congrats on the new addition to the family. Now, let the games that are dog training begin! (And don't stop posting about him, that would be cruel!)

    1. I must admit the dog training is exhausting. I keep telling him it's a good thing he's so cute!

  13. How cute! My boys want a dog so bad. We told them once we got a house, we would get a dog. We got the house. Then we told them, once we got a fence in the backyard, we would get a dog. We got the fence last summer. I have no more excuses not to get a dog! Except my boys and husband want a big dog and dogs are too much work! I have a feeling I'm going to be out voted since I'm the only female in the house! :)

  14. I have a Westie called Molly who came from Blind Bay! I wonder if she is related to Fergus??

    1. I bet they are related! They have to be - I think there is only one breeder in Blind Bay! How old is your Westie?
