Hello Oliver!

Oliver Changyi Hammond was born Monday morning, and we are all so excited! Both Diana and the baby are doing well, and were able to go home from the hospital Tuesday.

Diana had the great idea of getting a baby doll for Lucy as a gift from her new brother Oliver.

As much as she loves the baby doll I think she is even more taken with the real thing!

I especially love this picture. The red blanket was Diana's when she was a baby. They used it when Lucy came home from the hospital, and now it is being used for Oliver. I don't think Diana has many keepsakes from her childhood in China, which makes it that much more special.

Lucy is right there, wanting to help out at every opportunity.

They've already gone for an outing to the beach. I can't believe how great Diana looks just a few days after giving birth. I plan to go meet Oliver next week, and, as you might guess, I can hardly wait!

  2. Hello again!!
How wonderful!! Here in Sweden we are right now up to the brim with two newborn princes, fancy that. Still I always say that the birth of every child is such a miracle that it ought to be announced over the hills!!! Life is sooo precious. We are lucky to share this enjoyable moment with you and that lovely daughter you have. Wishing for that little family all the blessings and all the bestwishes I can muster. Those little nice knittings you have been working on now will come in very handy indeed, they were ever so neat and pretty.
Now you will be fairly occupied with this new little prince, I wish you luck with this!

  19. Welcome to this world Oliver! Family keepsakes are so lovely, even more so when there are few. Richard has many, I have barely any (my family seems rather unsentimental). I am creating some for future generations. Enjoy your first meeting with Oliver, it will be such a special moment. Please pass on my best wishes to Diana and Karsten and please tell Diana that she looks amazing! x
